Lawn Care, Snowplow and Asphalt Specialist
R&C Lawn Care Inc. offers lawn care, snowplow and asphalt services throughout Watertown and the surrounding communities. It was established in 1991 and is in the township of Watertown, WI.
We have a small workforce, which requires employment positions to work together. The Lawn Care and Snowplow position is one of those positions that is versatile. The applicant will primarily be knowledgeable and experienced working lawn care, snowplow removal and asphalt services, but will require training to do U-Haul customer assistance also. The applicant must be self-motivated and able to complete their work in a timely manner, with minimal supervision and must be available to work weekends.
Job Position
R&C Lawn Care Inc. is hiring a hardworking lawn care, snowplow, and asphalt specialist to help manage outdoor spaces for residential and commercial clients. Lawn service maintenance contracts include grass and hedge trimming, fertilizer application, weed control, occasional planting and bark laying. Snowplow service maintenance contracts include snow removal and salting. Asphalt service maintenance contracts include seal coating, line stripping, crack repair and infrared repair of parking lots, roads, and driveways. Job Responsibilities
- Operate a zero-turn riding lawn mower, deck lawn mower, push mower and other tools to trim grass and edge lawn areas.
- Apply seed and fertilizer to lawns. (No state licensing needed to apply fertilizer).
- Operate backpack blower and leaf blower to gather leaves, hedge trimmings, and debris for removal.
- Use pruners and trimmers to remove shrub and tree overgrowth.
- Plant flowers, shrubs, trees, turf, and lay bark, as requested by client.
- Clear snow and ice from sidewalks, paths, driveways, parking lots, and roadways in winter utilizing ATV, Bobcats Dump Trucks, Wheel Loaders, Plow Trucks, Salt Spreaders and Snow Blowers.
- Maintenance of all equipment and trucks that you operate. (i.e. sharpening blades, checking fluids, oil, gas, belts, hydraulic fuel, etc.)
- Knowledge of maintenance for ATV, Bobcats Dump Trucks, Wheel Loaders, Plow Trucks, Salt Spreaders and Snow Blowers.
- Knowledgeable and willing to learn the asphalt services to perform line stripping, asphalt seal coating, infrared repair, and crack filling.
- Meet with potential clients to assess lawns, yards, driveways, parking lots and roads to identify areas of improvement that our services can provide.
- Drive work trucks to/from job sites and supplier locations.
- Load and unload lawn care and snowplow tools into/from work trucks.
- Able to load and unload lawn mowers on trailer, secure and maneuver trailer.
- Log billable hours accurately.
- Add job details, review daily tasks, and communicate with customers and fellow co-workers.
- Trained to work with U-Haul customers assisting with rental, truck, and trailer location, parking equipment, hooking up equipment and checking in equipment upon return.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 2 years of lawn care, snowplow, and asphalt experience.
- Experience using lawn care, snowplow, heavy equipment and asphalt equipment.
- Valid driver’s license, clean driving record with no major violation in the past 2 years, and reliable transportation.
- CDL is beneficial, but not required.
- Must have a cellphone for communication.
- Able to repeatedly lift and move 50 pounds.
- Able to sit, stand, kneel, and lift.
- Able to work in all weather conditions.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Strong work ethic and positive attitude.
- Self-starter who can manage time effectively.
- Willing to learn and to follow instructions.
- Can work independently and as part of a team environment.
- Experience tracking time and documentation of all work performed.
Working Hours and Availability
- Part-time with potential for full-time, based on the weather.
- Year-round Seasonal Position.
- Must be available Monday to Sunday, based on the weather.
Compensation
- Pay will be based on experience.
- Flexible when working on major holidays, excluding snowstorms in winter.
