What are the responsibilities and job description for the INL CMM Programmer position at R C M INDUSTRIES INC?
Develops programs to use on CMM for dimensional inspection of manufactured aluminum casting product. Use CMM and other Monitoring and Measuring Equipment (Digital gages, air gages, roundness testers, calipers, micrometers, surface finish testers and Optical comparator) to inspect product for dimensional conformance according to production schedule. Reads and interprets Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) data. Complies with internal quality system, business policies, and regulatory requirements; supports business goals and objectives.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Reads and understands blueprints.
- Generating and troubleshoot CMM programs and prove-out of CMM programs.
- Perform CMM inspections for final layout on components and analyze features to GD&T requirements.
- Perform inspections as required using multiple measurement and monitoring equipment.
- Develop, maintain and communicate reports from the lab to internal customers.
- Responsible for programming and operating the CMM and other measuring equipment.
- Ensures accuracy of programs to dimensioned tolerances
- Thorough knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T).
- Serve as resident expert on all complex measurement equipment.
- Familiar with the management of all calibration systems.
- Responsible for compiling data from GAGE R&R's and Capability studies.
- Notifies team members or managers of any defects, deviations or other safety issues.
- Responsible for updating any and all documentation related to customers specifications.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Associates degree or more advanced degree in engineering or related technical field or 4 years progressive experience related to precision manufacturing and inspection
- Ability to program and use CMM with PC Dmis and Calypso software.
- Ability to use computer programs to create inspection reports.
- Strong knowledge of GD&T and how to apply those requirements to create and inspect features.
- Communicates nonconformities to the appropriate personnel as required.
- Carries out all individual duties and responsibility in accordance with the requirements of IS)/IATF System and Quality System requirements
