We're seeking a relationship-driven Business Development Manager to join our team in Utah. This role focuses on connecting with high-value clients, strategic partners, and centers of influence to grow our client base. The ideal candidate will thrive in networking environments, have exceptional relationship-building skills, and can confidently represent our company at in-person events and meetings.
- Build and nurture relationships with strategic partners including CPAs, family offices, investment firms, and financial advisors who can refer qualified clients
- Represent R&D Advantage at local business events, industry conferences, and networking opportunities (Silicon Slopes, Make Utah, etc.)
- Conduct introductory clientele reviews to determine if businesses qualify for R&D tax credits
- Learn the fundamentals of R&D tax credits to confidently discuss benefits with potential clients and partners
- Develop and implement strategies to target high-value clients spending millions in R&D
- Work alongside our founder to learn our approach before eventually taking the lead on client acquisition
- Manage the sales pipeline from initial contact through handoff to our technical team
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport quickly and nurture long-term business relationships
- Professional presence and confidence to represent our company at high-level meetings
- Experience in B2B sales, business development, or account management (financial services or tax experience is a plus)
- Ability to establish a network in the Utah business community, particularly with technology companies, manufacturing, or professional services
- Proactive self-starter who can work independently to identify and pursue opportunities
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex topics in simple terms
- Genuine interest in helping businesses unlock tax benefits they've earned
- Located in Utah with ability to attend in-person meetings and events
