Job Description:
We are looking for a microfabrication technician who will be trained to use and support state-of-the-art semiconductor processing and fabrication equipment. The technician will work with experienced engineers to develop and run custom processes on production grade equipment, while using process monitoring metrics and maintenance routines to help maintain high-yield production of photonic devices. The candidate must have good professional discipline to follow detailed specifications, have good attention to detail, and have good organization skills. Candidates must have at least an associate degree in a scientific technical field and be familiar with laboratory work environments, high precision equipment, chemicals and gases. The ideal candidate would have experience with various wafer-scale processing with equipment such as: photolithography, thin-film physical vapor depositions (PVD), electroplating, reactive ion etching, ellipsometry and profilometry tools.
Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Daily operation in and around a semiconductor cleanroom environment.
- Utilize microfabrication manufacturing equipment for both operation and maintenance.
- Detailed process recording and note taking, as well as maintaining electronic assembly process logs.
- Coordination with team members to report results of processing and transition parts and process notes to colleagues for continued process refinement.
- Assist in troubleshooting and repair of electrical and electronic systems, pneumatic and mechanical systems, vacuum systems, scheduled maintenance, consumable changes, and various other activities critical to the operational success.
- Understand and strict observance of safety protocols when working around and with hazardous chemicals, liquids and gasses.
Required Qualifications:
- Have an Associate degree in a technical field from a College or University accredited by the US Department of Education or internationally recognized accrediting organization. Or equivalent industrial experience.
- Have an interest and familiarity with laboratory equipment and maintenance.
- Introductory technical skills and knowledge of laboratory processes and process equipment.
- Ability to work both in a laboratory and office environment.
- Introductory computer skills with navigating folders and network, familiarity with MS Word and MS Excel, MS PowerPoint or similar.
- Interest in working with tool automation software such as writing process recipes.
- Good detail-oriented communication skills.
- Ability to lift a minimum of 30 pounds on a periodic basis throughout the workday.
