About us
R&D Machine specializes in CNC machining of precision metal components for aerospace, defense, and space applications. Most of our parts have complicated geometries, are made of aluminum, and will be used above the Earth’s surface, in either our atmosphere or in outer space.
We have extensive 5-axis milling capabilities along with state-of-the-art Zeiss coordinate measuring machines (CMM). Using computer models of the customer parts, we expertly program both the cutting tool paths needed to machine these components and the CMM’s to automatically measure every dimension.
We are seeking a team-oriented candidate with strong GD&T and blueprint readings skills to conduct first piece, in-process, and final visual inspections on precision machined components, using standard inspection methods (pin/thread plug/ring gages, micrometers, calipers, microscopes). The ideal candidate will have a background in quality control and a commitment to maintaining the highest standards possible in a fast-paced work environment.
Responsibilities & Requirements:
- Day Shift (7:00am-3:30pm) Monday-Friday
- Manual inspections to ensure that products meet quality standards.
- Visually inspect parts during various stages of the process as well as before final shipment to the customer
- Read and interpret blue prints and GD&T
- Receive in parts from outside processing and verify certifications & processes are correct.
- Uses gauge pins, calipers, micrometers, microscopes
- Strong computer skills and Microsoft experience necessary.
- Inspect paperwork for accuracy & ensure parts have been completed thru correct process.
- Record scrap & reworked parts
- Perform first article inspections as required
- Flexibility for various QC positions
- Communicate with co-workers.
- Follow safety protocols.
- Research and implement new inspection techniques.
Qualifications:
- Knowledge of AS9100D practices
- Experience with quality control processes
- Ability to interpret GD&T and perform quality control tasks accurately
- Preferred experience with chemical coating processes & standards
- Pass pre-employment drug screen
- Complete pre-employment criminal background check
