What are the responsibilities and job description for the Associate Scientist II position at R&D Partners?
Biotechnology company is seeking an Associate Scientist II to support downstream development and manufacturing. This is a 6-month contract with the potential of an extension.
Responsibilities
- Small-scale purification of upstream Protein Synthesis bioreactors.
- Implement purification strategy for medium-high throughput processing of carrier protein.
- Collaborate with Upstream for sample process timing, and collaborate with Protein Analytical Development for sample hand off.
- Organize, label, and track storage for multiple in-process samples.
- Carefully document laboratory execution in electronic lab notebook entries.
- Execute documented purification and analytical procedures.
- Compile and present experimental data.
- Contribute to technical reports summarizing experimental data.
- Participate in cross-functional project teams and provide regular progress updates.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or Biochemistry with 4 years of industry experience.
- Strong protein purification knowledge and experience, including familiarity with AKTA lab-scale and preparative chromatography systems and UNICORN software.
- Experience with good documentation practices and electronic lab notebooks.
- Ability to work independently and in collaboration with others.
- Strong interpersonal skills, with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
