What are the responsibilities and job description for the Lab Associate (Biochemistry) position at R&D Partners?
Biotechnology company is hiring a Lab Associate to join the Analytical development team. You will support the characterization developmental activities currently on going in the laboratory. This is a 6-month contract to start.
Responsibilities
- Maintain an organized and efficient laboratory workspace for the team.
- Oversee the organization of chemical inventory, ensuring proper labelling, storage, and compliance with safety regulations.
- Assist in the organization and labelling of materials stored in freezers and refrigerators, ensuring easy access, proper storage and handling of samples and materials.
- Support daily lab operations, including sample inventory and sample shipment.
- Assist in the collection, labelling, and preparation of samples for analysis.
- Prepare reagents and solutions according to established protocols.
- Maintain an accurate inventory of chemicals and reagents, tracking usage and expiration dates.
- Coordinate the ordering and restocking of laboratory supplies.
- Perform routine analytical testing by following established protocols, ensuring accurate execution of tests and documentation.
- Collaborate within a team environment to support and further team objectives.
- Demonstrate flexibility and effectively complete assigned tasks with high quality and in a timely manner.
Qualifications
- BS in Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, Biochemistry.
- 1-2 years of relevant industry experience.
- Prior experience in a laboratory setting is advantageous.
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
- Basic knowledge of laboratory safety protocols.
- Proficient in using laboratory equipment and technology.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work under supervision and independently in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment.
- Collaborative mindset with the eagerness to learn and adapt to new concepts quickly.
Pay
- $30.00-$35.00 per hour
