What are the responsibilities and job description for the Supply Chain Specialist position at R&D Partners?
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Material Handler to join our team at R&D Partners. In this role, you will be responsible for managing the receipt and shipment of laboratory supplies and business materials.
The ideal candidate will have experience working with temperature-sensitive materials and understand the importance of maintaining the chain of custody for cold-chain items. Additionally, they should have experience with domestic and international shipping, including packaging and documentation requirements.
Responsibilities
- Process accurate Purchase Order receipts in Netsuite ERP system.
- Support Sample Receiving process.
- Distribute stock to Point of Use locations throughout labs using Kan-Ban methodology.
- Tag and label incoming stock items and perform put-away tasks.
- Maintain item disposition per QC status in the stockroom.
- Keep track of incoming and outgoing shipments.
- Collaborate with the purchasing department to reconcile shipping discrepancies.
- Perform cycle counts of stock materials.
- Maintain supply item records and manage inventory within Netsuite.
- Prepare and process outbound shipments, both domestic and international.
- Coordinate with freight and logistics carriers for pick-ups and deliveries.
- Work with finance to reconcile PO and packing slips.
- Create and refine written Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for work responsibilities.
- Initiate purchase requisitions as needed.
Qualifications
- Associate's degree and 2-5 years of experience in material handling within biotechnology or pharmaceutical industries.
- Experience working with temperature-sensitive materials and understanding of the importance of maintaining the chain of custody for cold-chain items.
- Knowledge of domestic and international shipping, including packaging and documentation requirements.
- Familiarity with integrated ERP and LIMS systems, preferably NetSuite.
- Able to work in a fast-paced environment with moderate lifting and occasional exposure to refrigerated and frozen items.
