Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced Tool and Die Journeyman for field service operations nationwide. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining dies, molds, and tooling.
Responsibilities
- Diagnose, repair, and maintain progressive dies, stamping dies, and complex tooling assemblies at customer locations
- Perform emergency repairs and preventive maintenance on production tooling
- Machine, fit, and adjust die components using precision equipment and measuring instruments
- Analyze and resolve complex die failures and tooling issues
- Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and engineering specifications
- Perform die spotting, fitting, and timing adjustments
- Work with customers to optimize tool performance and extend die life
- Document repairs, modifications, and maintenance activities
- Train customer personnel on proper die maintenance procedures
- Travel to customer sites across the United States
Qualifications
- Completed Tool and Die Journeyman certification or equivalent experience
- Proficient in precision measuring techniques and instruments
- Experience with CNC machinery, EDM, and conventional machine tools
- Strong understanding of GD&T and blueprint reading
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel extensively
- Experience working with various materials including tool steel, carbide, and bronze
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift and handle tools and components up to 50 pounds
- Capable of standing, bending, and working in various positions for extended periods
- Comfortable working in manufacturing environments
- Valid passport for occasional international travel
