Purchaser and Calibrations

Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Purchaser to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in managing the procurement process, ensuring that materials and supplies are acquired efficiently and cost-effectively. This position requires strong analytical skills and a deep understanding of supply chain management to support our operational needs.

Responsibilities

• Manage the procurement of goods and services, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to quality standards.
• Utilize MRP (Material Requirements Planning) systems to forecast inventory needs and maintain optimal stock levels.
• Collaborate with vendors to negotiate contracts, manage relationships, and ensure compliance with terms.
• Oversee logistics related to the purchasing process, coordinating with suppliers for timely shipments.
• Conduct market research to identify potential suppliers and evaluate their capabilities.
• Implement effective inventory management practices to minimize waste and reduce costs.
• Analyze purchasing data to identify trends, opportunities for cost savings, and areas for improvement.
• Work closely with internal teams to understand their purchasing needs and provide support as necessary.
• Manage calibrations records and scheduling for all calibrated equipment.
• Utilize company vehicle for emergency purchases/deliveries if necessary.

Skills

• Strong knowledge of supply chain management principles and practices.
• Proficiency in MRP systems and experience with SAP or similar software.
• Ability to fabricate purchase orders accurately and efficiently.
• Excellent vendor management skills, including the ability to build strong relationships with suppliers.
• Experience in contract management, ensuring compliance with agreements.
• Familiarity with logistics processes related to procurement activities.
• Strong analytical skills with attention to detail for effective inventory management.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to collaborate effectively across departments.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
