Remodeling Team Member

Job Description:

The Remodeling Team Member position is an entry level position on a small team assisting in residential remodeling projects, most often kitchens and bathrooms, from start to completion.

Since 1999, R.E. Timm Construction has been making kitchen and bathroom dreams come true for Bay Area homeowners. Based in Castro Valley, we have multiple teams working in homes primarily in the 580/680 corridor and the Oakland hills. Turnover is rare, with many employees having over ten years with the company. Current openings are due to growth and a couple employees moving out of the area. 100% of our projects are from referrals and we are currently booked out almost a year.

Position Reports To:

The Remodeling Team Member reports to the Team Lead as well as the company owner.

Schedule:

• Fulltime
• 8-Hour Day Shifts (typically 8:00 – 4:30)
• Monday - Friday

Compensation:

• $25 - $35 / Hour DOE

Qualifications:

• Basic knowledge of residential construction processes and site safety a plus.
• Experience in carpentry, finish carpentry, construction, and/or in-home renovation experience a plus.
• Proven organizational and time management skills.
• Must have good problem-solving skills.
• Ability to take, and act on, instruction and the wisdom to speak up if something isn’t clear.
• Valid driver’s license and maintain a good driving record.
• Ability to lift and/or push and/or pull up heavy items related to this work.
• Professional and positive attitude.
• Dedication to high quality work in a fun and productive jobsite environment.
• High standard of integrity and professionalism.
• Dependable -- more reliable than spontaneous.
• People-oriented -- enjoys interacting with people and working on group projects.
• Must be at least 18 years old.

Job Duties/Responsibilities:

• Assists the Remodeling Team Lead in performing tasks such as demolition, light rough framing, plumbing, electrical, mechanical, drywall, tile, finish carpentry, painting, cabinet installation, door and window installation, and some floor installation.
• You will assist in maintaining a clean, organized, and safe job site.
• Receiving and inspecting delivered materials.
• Receive on-the-job training and learning to improve on less developed skills while refining and improving on current skill sets.
• Other duties as assigned by the Team Lead and/or owner.
