About This Role
In this position, you will be responsible for providing vacation/injury relief for delivery personnel which deliver and/or stock our products to customer locations on designated routes.
In this position, you will be responsible for all of the below responsibilities, while training to get your CDL Class A Licensure. R.H. Barringer has an internal training program for obtaining your CDL's. In order for you to obtain your CDL's with R.H. Barringer, it will require you to sign a contract of employment for 2 years from CDL acquisition date. Failure to maintain employment with R.H. Barringer for 2 years will result in a repayment of fees associated with obtaining your CDL Licensure to the amount of $4,000. Please note that you will be getting paid your normal hourly rate while training to get your CDL's. Once a CDL is obtained, a pay raise occurs and you are moved from a Delivery Trainee position to a Delivery Relief position where you continue your training until a Delivery Route becomes available.
Responsibilities
- Exercise safe practices and work environment.
- Services all scheduled customers by the end of shift.
- Willingness to work until the entire job is done, including in adverse weather conditions, including overtime, weekends, and holidays as business dictates.
- Collect money from customers, makes change, records transactions on customer receipt and reconciles and deposits all monies collected at the end of each day.
- Deliver, fill, merchandise, and rotate products at customer accounts.
- Foster positive relationships with store management and personnel and provide superior customer service.
Qualifications
Position Requirements
- Regular, reliable, predictable attendance.
- Must be able to obtain an ABC Permit to sell alcohol, (18 years old and up)
- Ability to pass and maintain a DOT Physical and pass pre-employment and random DOT Drug screens, including testing for Marijuana and all other federally mandated substances.
- Must be self-motivated with a high degree of integrity and be able perform job duties with minimal supervision on a timely basis.
- Past job performance must reflect dependability, initiative, professional demeanor, and the ability to exercise sound judgment.
- Availability to work some weekends and/or some holidays.
- Lifting and loading from 20-45 pounds per case repeatedly over 10-12 hour work period.,
- Pushing and pulling over 800 pounds, bending, reaching and squatting while delivering and moving products.
- Must be capable of working in beverage cooler conditions. 35-45 degrees
Candidate Requirements
- Previous route delivery, direct store delivery, stocking, merchandising products or retail management experience is preferred.
- Valid driver’s license and insurance.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Must pass a background check.
- Strong communication and organization skills.
