We are an established multi-discipline firm with a successful and long history as a leader in the Civil Engineering and Survey Profession. Over the past 107 years, our firm of over 40 employees has not encountered much turnover, other than through planned retirements. Position Description – Construction Survey Technician
As a part of our growing survey team, you will be the survey crew chief for various types of construction staking projects under the direction of the construction manager. Duties will include project file setup, maintaining survey equipment, file management and reports, clear and concise construction stakes, professional coordination with contractors and the construction manager. This position will occasionally be supported by an intern as a rod man but will mostly be a 1-man crew position. Hours of work are typically 8-5, year-round, and while overtime is occasionally required, it is not expected. This position offers growth opportunity and will require working knowledge survey equipment and construction staking procedures. A successful candidate will need to have background in or a desire to learn about the following areas:
- Experience in Trimble survey equipment and software.
- Knowledgeable about construction safety and OSHA requirements.
- AutoCAD experience is desired, but we will train the right candidate.
- Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Excel, Word).
This position will require collaboration with our Team in order to maintain project timelines, budgets and Client expectations.
