What are the responsibilities and job description for the School Resource Officer position at R.H. Bearden Elementary School?
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Must have an extensive knowledge of the law.
2. Commissioned as a law enforcement officer.
3. Minimum of three years experience in law.
4. Ability to work with youths.
5. Knowledge of the court system and presentation of evidence in court proceedings.
6. An understanding of the rules and regulations for school safety forthe state and school in which he/she works.
7. Knowledge of policies practices in investigation and analysis of evidence.
8. Knowledge of how to prevent fires or supress them in the event in the event of an outbreak.
9. Basic security and supervison skills.
10. Ability to react quickly and efficiently in the event of an emergency.
11. The following technical quailifications are only recommended.
12. Be a certified officer on city or county police/sheriff department.
13. Be at least 18 years of age.
14. Be a U.S. citizen.
15. Be a high school graduate.
16. No legal convitions regarding "force, violcence, theft, dishonesty, gambling, liquor or controlled substances."
17. Be free of mental disorders that may prevent unbiased and moral conduct on the job.
18. Satisfactory criminal background check.
