Job Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Project Manager for our Heavy Civil Construction projects. The Project Manager will oversee all aspects of construction projects, including planning, bidding, coordination, budgeting, and execution. The ideal candidate will have experience in large-scale civil infrastructure projects such as roads, bridges, utilities, and earthworks.
Key Responsibilities:
· Project Estimating: analyzes project requirements, blueprints, and documentation to prepare time, cost, material, and labor estimates for large civil engineering projects, ensuring accurate and competitive bids
- Project Planning & Scheduling: Develop detailed project plans, schedules, and timelines for heavy civil construction projects, ensuring adherence to budgets and deadlines.
- Budget Management: Prepare and manage project budgets, ensuring costs stay within the approved limits and identify areas for cost savings.
- Resource Management: Oversee and coordinate resources, including equipment, materials, labor, and subcontractors to ensure efficient project execution.
- Contract Management: Work with clients, vendors, and subcontractors to ensure that all contracts are followed and terms are met.
- Risk Management: Identify and mitigate risks related to project timelines, safety, costs, and quality.
- Quality Control: Monitor construction work to ensure compliance with safety standards, building codes, environmental regulations, and quality control guidelines.
- Stakeholder Communication: Act as the primary point of contact for clients, stakeholders, and project teams, providing regular updates on project status, issues, and accomplishments.
- Supervision & Leadership: Lead, mentor, and manage a team of supervisors, and laborers to ensure optimal performance and safety on-site.
- Problem-Solving: Address and resolve any project issues or challenges, ensuring minimal disruption to the schedule or project goals.
- Documentation & Reporting: Maintain accurate project documentation, including progress reports, change orders, inspection reports, pay requests, and meeting minutes.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, Construction Management, or a related field is preferred.
- Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience in project management within the heavy civil construction industry is preferred.
- Certifications: PMP (Project Management Professional) certification preferred; OSHA and other safety-related certifications a plus.
- Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of civil construction methods, materials, building codes, and safety regulations.
- Skills:
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficient in project management software (e.g., Procore, MS Project, Primavera).
- Budgeting and financial management skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to spend time on-site, in construction zones, in varying weather conditions.
- Ability to perform site inspections, lift and carry up to 50 lbs when necessary.
- Ability to stand, walk, or sit for extended periods.
Working Conditions:
- Primarily office-based with frequent site visits.
- Construction site environments, which may include exposure to noise, dust, and inclement weather.
- Overtime as required to meet project deadlines or critical milestones
