Job Summary
A high-level position responsible for leading and managing the Imports and Exports, and Air and Ocean departments to achieve stated goals. The ideal candidate will have experience in freight forwarding, financial management, and people leadership.
Key Responsibilities
- Operational Functions
- Coordinate operations for Imports & Exports departments, ensuring timely and accurate processes.
- Ensure speedy delivery of cargo to customers.
- Comply with regulations from USA Customs, IATA, TSA, and other governing bodies.
- Financial and Accounting Outcomes
- Set branch goals and objectives in line with company guidelines and KPIs.
- Manage full P/L responsibility, set budget, and present to Management.
- Collaborate with Sales to integrate operations and sales budgets.
- Develop a business plan with key staff to achieve company outcomes.
- Client, Supply Management, and Business Development
- Manage allocated customers using established tools to achieve targets.
- Negotiate contracts with customers, suppliers, and overseas agents.
- Deploy information on contracts to all parties.
- Prospect new business and Sales Development.
- People Management
- Lead, motivate, and manage operations and sales teams.
- Retrain adequate staffing levels.
- Conduct annual performance reviews and establish targets.
- Monitor staff performance and work with HR on employee relations and training issues.
Requirements
- High school graduate, some college preferred.
- Knowledge of EDI/Cargowise, CRM, and familiarity with freight forwarding procedures and financials (TSA, CBP, IATA, FMC, BIS).
- Business unit & Cost center supervision experience (P&L, Debtors, AR/AP).
- Essentially six plus years of industry-related experience required.
- Demonstrated Leadership and People Management skills.
- Proven sales ability.

- Able to handle complex problems, knows how to multitask.
