R.J. Corman Railroad Group, headquartered in Nicholasville, KY, serves all seven North American major railroads, many regional and short line railroads and dozens of industries having rail. Services include owning and operating seventeen short lines, providing emergency rail services associated with derailments and natural disasters, switching, track construction, track material distribution, signal design/construction, building switching locomotives and operating a dinner train.
R.J. Corman is currently seeking a Farm Laborer to work on the its 2,000 acre farm on which its headquarters is located in Nicholasville, KY.
Primary duties will include operating zero turn mowers and weed eaters as well as other landscaping duties but duties may expand to other activities necessary for the efficient upkeep of the farm.
Education and Experience: Previous experience and familiarity in operation of equipment. Basic mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot simple mechanical failures is preferred.
Physical Requirements: Ability to frequently stoop, kneel, and crouch; ability to perform physically strenuous work; ability to operate heavy equipment; lifting 50 pounds in the performance of duties.
Environmental Conditions: Performs duties in multiple environments including outside project settings, in and around moving vehicles and equipment. Exposure to weather elements; must wear appropriate PPE required for project site. Possible knowledge needed for specialized equipment. Must carry out responsibilities in a fast-paced, outside environment. Requires efficient development and performance of processes; and requires ability to multi-task.
Job Dimensions: Interfaces with all levels of employees and management. Performs duties under general supervision with limited discretion.
