What are the responsibilities and job description for the OTR Class-A CDL Driver (Starke, FL) position at R.J. Corman Railroad Group?
Accountability: Perform duties such as staging loads, loading trucks, delivering loads to customers and off-loading at customer designated drop-points. Will perform routine vehicle maintenance, and general yard work. Will also maintain inventory, usage, delivery and DOT-required paperwork. Requires operation of straight and combination vehicles, On-Call status, and occasional travel/fill-in responsibilities at other R.J. Corman locations when necessary.
Responsibilities:
- Perform duties including, but not limited to, staging, loading, and delivering various flatbed and step deck loads
- Maintain delivery and DOT paperwork, and must be fully compliant with all federal, state, and local laws/regulations
- Employee will perform routine vehicle maintenance and general yard work as required
- Must be prepared to be on the road and away from home for a week at a time
Specialized or Technical Knowledge, or Education and Experience:
·Candidate must have a valid CDL/A with current medical card.
·Forklift and equipment hauling experience is preferred
Requires constant standing, walking, climbing stairs and ladders, and balancing in a safe manner
Requires occasional stooping, kneeling, and crouching
Able to lift and carry equipment weighing up to 30 lbs
Requires frequent twisting while operating equipment, especially forklift
Environmental Conditions: Work is performed outside in varying types of environmental conditions.
Major or Unusual Problems: Must be prepared to be on the road and away from home for a week at a time. 24/7 availability for emergencies and may be assigned other job duties as the business requires.
Job Dimensions: Interfaces with all levels of employees and management. Performs duties under general supervision with limited discretion. Does not directly supervise employees.
