Job Summary:
The Plumbing Estimator will be responsible for developing accurate and competitive cost estimates for a variety of commercial and industrial plumbing projects. This position involves close collaboration with project managers, clients, and vendors to ensure successful project bids.
Key Responsibilities:
- Analyze project plans, specifications, and scope of work to prepare accurate cost estimates.
- Conduct site visits to assess project conditions and gather relevant information.
- Collaborate with the sales and project management teams to ensure estimates align with client needs and project goals.
- Identify material, labor, and subcontractor costs, ensuring all pricing is current and competitive.
- Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain accurate quotes.
- Prepare detailed bid proposals and present them to clients professionally.
- Maintain an organized database of historical costs, vendor pricing, and completed project data for future reference.
- Participate in pre-construction and planning meetings as required.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Plumbing Estimator or in a similar estimating role in the construction industry.
- Strong knowledge of commercial and industrial plumbing systems and installation methods.
- Proficiency in estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite (e.g., Excel).
- Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Familiarity with local building codes and plumbing regulations is a plus.
