Position and Responsibilities Overview
Provide complete and accurate trade specific estimates. Assemble Bid Tab with estimates and vendor / sub quotes. Coordinate and clarify scope internally and externally. Identify value engineering opportunities and fill in minor design / score gaps.
- Must have solid understanding of estimation process.
- Review project documents.
- Identify scope of work.
- Material, labor, and equipment takeoffs.
- Walk difficult projects.
- Identify and document difficult / non-standard conditions.
- Coordinate with Preconstruction Team to identify and fill scope gaps.
- Clarify scope with General Contractor and Engineer.
- Obtain quotes and coordinate / qualify scope with vendors and subcontractors.
- Completely assemble the Bid Tab in a timely manner.
- Provide value engineering ideas.
- Verify estimate accuracy by comparing data versus similar bids.
- File electronic documents.
- Participate in turnover process to Operations.
- Liaison between Estimating and Field Operations.
- Follow up on past awards.
