Job Description – Data Center Technician
**On-site role at 2 MetroTech Center, Brooklyn, NY 11201**
**Two year contract**
High-Level Project Goals
- Deploy data center network infrastructure (Cisco - ACI, Nexus switches, ASR routers, FirePower firewalls, VMware NSX, F5 Load Balancers) including racking and cabling.
- Configure and test the network infrastructure.
- Migration of legacy network connectivity to new infrastructure.
- Decommission legacy network equipment.
Position – Data Center Technician to provide support for the Data Center Operation team by racking & stacking, cabling, and maintaining infrastructure in the DOE/DIIT data centers.
Responsibilities:
- Installing and cabling equipment in the data centers based on design documents.
- Update and maintain DCIM tool and documentation.
- Uninstalling and removing equipment.
- Troubleshoot connectivity issues using various tools.
- Performs day-to-day maintenance to keep the data center clean, safe, and secure.
Mandatory Requirements:
- 4 years of experience working in a data center supporting related work.
- Ability to perform physical work related to the job.
- 4 years of experience in network support with LAN troubleshooting.
- 4 experience using documentation tools (MS Excel, MS Visio, MS Word, Etc.)
Preferable Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science from an accredited college.
- Prior education industry/project experience.
- Strong oral, written, and presentation skills; ability to communicate in a credible and confident manner at all levels in the organization in clear, concise language.
- Familiarity with DIIT network standards for hardware and network connectivity.
Job Types: Full-time, Contract
Pay: $35.00 - $40.00 per hour
Expected hours: 35 per week
