What are the responsibilities and job description for the Carrier Sourcing Executive position at R+L Global?
Carrier Sourcing Executive is responsible for sourcing carriers on PTLS’s most important lanes. The Carrier Sourcing Executive will proactively develop and maintain relationships with new and existing carriers to secure capacity on key lanes while negotiating the most competitive rates and service level agreements that align with customer operational requirements. This role will establish comprehensive routing guides with recommended carriers, optimizing efficiency across all service offerings.
Carrier Sourcing Executive responsibilities and essential job functions include, but are not limited to the following:
- Receive awarded business and bids for the enterprise
- Utilize various methods of outreach, primarily phone and email, to solicit and sell carriers on working with PTLS
- Collaborate and negotiate with carriers, identifying mutually beneficial opportunities and executing pricing/service agreements
- Create routing guides and provide direction for operator teams regarding the utilization of carriers and carriers’ expectations
- Understand and communicate carrier capabilities and PTLS opportunities, optimizing capacity procurement internally and creating awareness of existing and potential opportunities for partner carriers
- Update carrier and shipment information into our PTLS systems for use and automation
- Ensure selected carriers for routing are being utilized, and rates are flowing correctly through the system
- Develop and maintain strong customer relationships with our partner carriers
- Foster strong and positive communication between internal and external customers
- Responsible for providing cost-effective carrier solutions with exceptional service
- Improve margins on regular lanes through addition of carriers to PTLS network
- Move new carriers through the onboarding process to ensure success of routing guides
Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- High school diploma or GED
- Customer service experience
- Previous logistics or transportation experience preferred
- Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing
- Ability to investigate internal and external concerns and solve them in a timely manner
- Ability to work independently and within a team environment
- Strong communication skills, both written and oral, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to clearly and effectively communicate with people at all levels of the organization
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines while maintaining a positive attitude and providing unmatched customer service
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
- Ability to read, write, and speak English fluently; Other languages a plus
