What are the responsibilities and job description for the Project Manager - Information Technology position at R+L Global?
Project Manager will report to the Director, Information Technology and be responsible for project management activities for technology projects of all sizes, ensuring projects meet objectives for business stakeholders. Successful candidates will be an effective communicator with solid critical thinking, problem solving, collaboration, time management, organization and negotiation skills.
Project Manager responsibilities and essential job functions include, but are not limited to the following:
- Identify project goals, objectives and scope, and create comprehensive project plans and action plans concerning tasks, resources and timeframes
- Perform various duties such as scheduling of meetings, documenting meeting notes, outcomes and action items, performing risk management, and communicating with pertinent business stakeholders
- Periodically, assist with the development and documentation of business requirements and specifications
- Break projects into specific actions, define milestones and set timeframes
- Identify and resolve issues that arise
- Assign tasks to internal teams and assist with schedule management
- Ensure that customers’ needs are met as projects evolve
- Oversee current projects and manage team members to keep workflow on track
- Act as the main point of contact and communicate project status to all participants
- Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation, plans and reports
Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Business, or other related field of study or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Previous project management experience
- Knowledge and understanding of project management methodology such as Agile, Critical Path Method (CPM) and Waterfall; working experience utilizing such methodology preferred
- Project Management certification a plus
- Understanding of the differences between various-sized projects, enhancement projects and production support
- Solid critical thinking, problem solving, collaboration, time management, organization and negotiation skills
- Ability to work and collaborate cross-functionally with a diverse work group
- Ability to work independently while supporting an overall team mentality
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment with rapidly changing priorities
- Strong communication skills, both written and oral, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to clearly and effectively communicate with people at all levels of the organization and with external business partners
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines while maintaining a positive attitude and providing unmatched customer service
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite; Proficiency with Teamwork.com a plus
- Ability to read, write and speak English fluently
