What are the responsibilities and job description for the Warehouse Associate II position at R+L Global?
Warehouse Associate II responsibilities and essential job functions include, but are not limited to the following:
- Receiving, stocking, pulling, staging of freight
- Assists with training new associates and support leadership by bringing issues, errors, and solutions to leadership
- Loading and unloading of inbound and outbound freight
- Ensure load quality – assist with auditing associates work to ensure accuracy of shipments
- Ensure load/gate times are met to prevent wait time charges - work in tandem with SCPC
- Staging of container shipments – ensure that orders are staged together and in accordance with proper loading procedures
- Routing and distribution of freight to proper destination – audit BOL to ensure accuracy
- Operation of fork lift and/or pallet jack; perform required safety checks- ensure all lift checks are done and sent up to leadership. Ensure all forklift hours are submitted weekly to appropriate parties
- Inspection of freight ensuring it matches bill of lading, checking any physical damages, shortages and/or overages – audit all outbound orders for accuracy, ensuring loaders are doing tasks accurately
- Records apparent overages, shortages and damages to freight – trains receiving team to document issues and feeds up to pertinent parties
- Ensure warehouse security, cleanliness and safety standards are adhered to – Supports warehouse leadership to motivate warehouse associates to keep a 6S environment
Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- High school diploma or GED
- Fork Lift Certification and/or ability to obtain certification required
- 3 years’ previous warehouse experience
- Previous experience in LTL, TL or Freight Forwarding environment preferred
- Ability to read bill of lading/manifest
- Ability to work in a fast paced, ever-changing environment
- Ability to lift and move heavy objects, some weighing up to 75 lbs
- Ability to operate a forklift safely and efficiently, maintaining required forklift certification
- Ability to lead others in order manage tasks/projects as assigned and to support leadership and meet project and facility goals and deadlines
- Working knowledge and understands of warehousing, inventory and shipping procedures
- Knowledge of trailer loading procedures and OSHA requirements in a warehouse environment
- Knowledge of hazardous material loading requirements and restrictions
- Ability to read, write, and speak English fluently
