Overview
We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Health Aides to provide essential support to individuals in need of assistance with daily living activities. This role is vital in enhancing the quality of life for clients, particularly those with developmental disabilities, dementia, or those requiring hospice care. Health Aides will work closely with clients in their homes or in long-term care facilities, ensuring their comfort and well-being.
Duties
- Assist clients with personal care tasks, including bathing, grooming, and dressing.
- Launder clothing and linens as needed to maintain a clean living environment.
- Monitor and record vital signs to ensure the health status of clients is maintained.
- Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs and preferences.
- Provide companionship and emotional support to clients, fostering a positive atmosphere.
- Assist with mobility and physical activities to promote independence.
- Implement care plans as directed by healthcare professionals, including specialized care for individuals with dementia or developmental disabilities.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment for clients by performing light housekeeping tasks.
- Communicate effectively with family members and healthcare teams regarding client progress and needs.
Experience
- Previous experience in home care or long-term care settings is preferred but not required.
- Familiarity with working with individuals who have developmental disabilities or dementia is a plus.
- Knowledge of CPR and first aid practices is beneficial.
- Strong interpersonal skills to build rapport with clients and their families.
- Ability to follow instructions and work independently while being part of a larger healthcare team.
