Work Schedule
12-hour shifts (Day/Night), rotating weekends and holidays
Unit Details
- 2nd Floor: 15-bed Med-Surge unit
- 3rd Floor: 19-bed Med-Surge unit with telemetry patients
Responsibilities
- Patient Care & Assessment
- Conducts comprehensive physical assessments, patient history reviews, and interviews.
- Identifies abnormal patient conditions and initiates appropriate nursing interventions.
- Administers prescribed medications, IV fluids, blood transfusions, and other treatments.
- Manages patients with surgical, trauma, psychiatric, and other medical conditions.
- Telemetry Monitoring & Emergency Response
- Monitors telemetry patients and interprets cardiac rhythms.
- Responds to life-threatening emergencies using ACLS protocols.
- Initiates resuscitative measures and emergency interventions.
- Multidisciplinary Collaboration
- Works closely with physicians, specialists, case managers, and therapists for coordinated patient care.
- Participates in multidisciplinary rounds and provides clinical updates.
- Patient Education & Discharge Planning
- Educates patients and families on treatment plans, medications, and recovery processes.
- Ensures safe discharge planning and post-hospitalization care coordination.
- Quality Assurance & Process Improvement
- Participates in hospital-wide quality initiatives to improve patient outcomes.
- Proposes changes in nursing procedures and protocols based on new evidence.
- Contributes to performance improvement projects for Med-Surge services.
Required Certifications
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS)
Job Types: Full-time, Contract
Pay: $55.00 - $58.34 per hour
Expected hours: No more than 60 per week
