RL Kunz is a manufacturer’s rep firm specializing in industrial air related systems. We have been in business since 1964 serving manufacturing facilities located in the Carolinas and Georgia. We are looking for a talented technical sales consultant to work out of our Raleigh, NC office covering portions of Central and Eastern North Carolina including clients in the cities of Raleigh, Fayetteville, Wilmington, & Greenville, NC and surrounding counties. R L Kunz, Inc. is a trusted supplier of air handling equipment serving new and established OEMs, industrial facilities, mechanical subcontractors and other potential clients in the territory.
Role Description
The applicant is required to be self-motivated with an advanced understanding of mechanical engineering. The applicant must possess the ability to understand, learn, and digest the mechanical workings and properties of industrial equipment. Responsibilities will consist of managing and calling on manufacturing plants, engineering firms, mechanical contractors, and end users within an assigned sales territory. We offer integrated solutions to our clients using the network of manufacturing partnerships that we have in place. Post selling project management will be required in many instances. Relationship selling is key to providing top quality service, sharing application knowledge, meeting our commitments, and solving problems. People buy from people they trust, and we are growing.
Responsibilities
- Learn the products and services offered, including the sales terminology
- Become proficient in the technical knowledge required
- Maintain and increase penetration into existing assigned accounts
- Find prospective customers and new target segments
- Monitor sales numbers, understanding customer/project profitability, and territory forecasting
- Take ownership of a project and manage it from start to finish
- Monitor competition and follow current developments
Skills
- Possess proven work experience as a sales consultant in the industrial market
- Innate mechanical aptitude
- A mechanical engineering background is helpful
- Must have strong relationship building characteristics
- Familiarity with CRM programs
- Have the ability to gather and interpret data
- Possess organizational and analytical skills
- Project management & Experience in Consultative Selling
- Only full-time employees are eligible
- 100% Commission job w/ monthly draw after initial 12-18 months onboarding period
- Ability to work unsupervised to achieve goals and objectives
