Job Summary:
We are seeking an organized and detail-oriented Junior Bookkeeper to handle day-to-day financial operations. This role is ideal for someone looking to grow their career in finance and accounting, especially within the construction industry. The ideal candidate will have a basic understanding of bookkeeping principles and, preferably, some experience in construction or a similar field. You will also assist and support the Financial Controller in various accounting and finance tasks.
Responsibilities:
- Record daily financial transactions, including accounts payable and receivable.
- Reconcile accounts and verify the accuracy of entries.
- Maintain organized records of financial documents and transactions.
- Assist in preparing financial statements and reports.
- Track and monitor project budgets and expenses.
- Support the month-end and year-end close processes.
- Assist and help the Financial Controller with daily accounting and finance tasks.
- Collaborate with the team to manage payroll and other financial tasks.
- Communicate with vendors, clients, and subcontractors as needed.
- Revise payables and receivables to make sure they are accurate.
Qualifications:
- Some experience in bookkeeping, accounting, or related fields.
- Familiarity with accounting software (QuickBooks or similar) is a plus.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel and general computer skills.
- Basic understanding of construction industry accounting is helpful but not required.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; an associate degree in accounting or business administration is a plus or equivalent experience in the field.
