Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and skilled Survey Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for conducting land surveys, preparing survey documents, and utilizing various software tools to support civil engineering projects. This role requires a strong understanding of surveying principles and proficiency in relevant software applications.
Duties
- Conduct land surveys using traditional and modern surveying equipment.
- Prepare detailed survey drawings and reports using AutoCAD, Civil 3D.
- Perform utility locating to identify underground utilities before construction begins.
- Collaborate with engineers and project managers to ensure accurate data collection and project specifications.
- Analyze survey data to determine property boundaries, topography, and other relevant features.
- Assist in the preparation of project proposals and documentation as needed.
Qualifications
- Proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD, Civil 3D, MicroStation) is essential.
- Knowledge of trigonometry and its application in surveying tasks.
- Familiarity with ArcGIS for geographic information system applications a plus.
- Experience in land surveying techniques and construction staking practices is preferred.
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members and clients.
