What are the responsibilities and job description for the Job Cost Accountant position at R&O Construction?
Purpose of position:
Collaborate with the operations team and project manager to bring projects within budget and on schedule by providing job cost accounting services. Act as a link between Estimating, Operations, and Accounting departments within company.
Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities:
Job Costing:
- Utilize Sage 300 CRE accounting software to enter estimate and budget information
- Utilize Procore for subcontracts, change orders, coding of subcontractor invoices
- Utilize Timberscan invoicing software to code and approve invoices
- Review and understand owner contracts
- Review subcontracts and entered supplier information into software
- Review lien waivers and request checks from Accounting for jobs
- Review prepared forecast reports to show accurate profits on current projects
- Make calls for collections of monies per contract terms
- Turn profit numbers into accounting for preparation of financial statements
Assist Project Manager:
- Prepare owner pay applications for/with PM
- Pre-code invoices to meet PM's coding schedule
- Work with PM to finalize profits and expenses after all monies have been received and paid in full
- Reconcile accounts for PM/Subcontractors
Coordinate status and follow-up of projects to Project Team:
- Facilitate Pre Job Meeting within 30 days of project award
- Facilitate 60 day Post Job Meeting
- Remind team and PM of deadline to schedule such meetings
Any additional accounting functions as requested
