Overview
R&P is looking for a Senior Engineering professional with expertise in C4I and Surface Navy Combat Systems to support our customer’s Mission Systems team. We are a small-sized defense contractor providing Engineering, Logistics, Program Management and Technical Services to government clients.
Responsibilities
▪ Plan, schedule, conduct and/or coordinate detailed phases of engineering or scientific work and perform work that involves conventional engineering or scientific practices.
▪ Apply knowledge of and experience with engineering principles and techniques to develop specifications and procedures, develop and analyze designs, and evaluate technical reports.
▪ Typical work includes engineering studies and analyses; technology planning; systems architecture development; computer programming; hardware/software applications; operational and performance requirements development; risk analysis and assessment; concept and technology development; system design; system development, integration and certification; engineering drawing development and review; production quality engineering; production engineering and test management; test and evaluation; system operations; integrated logistics support; modeling and simulation; configuration management; and systems acquisition and life-cycle management in compliance with industry and Government practices.
▪ Develop and/or review technical documentation including systems engineering plans, feasibility studies, configuration management plans, test plans and test reports, integrated logistics support plans, and engineering change documentation.
▪ Conduct research concerned with design, manufacture and test of components, equipment and systems, including application of equipment to new uses.
▪ Supervise and/or train lower-level engineers as required.
Qualifications
▪ Excellent communication, organizational and interpersonal skills
▪ Ability to travel up to 20% to support customer requirements
▪ Must be proficient in full suite of Microsoft Office products and tools
▪ Bachelor of Science degree in engineering discipline related to job plus at least 15 years of relevant work experience. Higher degree can be substituted for years of experience
▪ Knowledge of Surface Navy combat systems required
▪ NAVSEA experience preferred
