Job Summary
R&R Communications, Inc. is a Communications and Information Technology Company, currently looking to add a team member to cover the installation and service of Low Voltage Structured Cable plants and at times associated equipment to include paging systems, TV’s, WAP’s, and PBX equipment. Structured cable plants include Cat 5/6 UTP, Coax, and fiber cables and connectivity. Responsibilities and Duties
- Conduct job site surveys (including visual inspections, problem identification, etc.)
- Install Cat5e and Cat6 network cabling
- Install RG6 Coaxial cabling
- Install Fiber Optic cabling
- Attend project planning & progress meetings
- Report any project scope changes, issues or concerns
- Keep current with training and certifications
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications and Skills
- Vocational/Technical/Business School preferred
- Must be able to read and understand floor plans
- Must be able to work on ladders and scissor lifts
- Be confident working at heights utilizing ladders and lifting equipment
- Color vision as required to follow cable plant color codes
- Must have the ability to install, terminate & test low voltage cables (to include twisted pair cable, coax, stranded & solid conductor low voltage cable, AV cables.
- Positive and professional work ethic and attitude
- Good judgment
- Possess the ability and necessary restraints to work in a professional office environment as well as a professional construction environment
- Possess working knowledge of ANSI/TIA/EIA and the National Electrical Code
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent experience
- Strong mechanical aptitude
- Able to lift 50 pounds
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
- Able to pass drug screening and background check
- Available to work evenings and weekends when needed
- Must be available to work 40 hours per week, possess a clear understanding of being punctual and maintain excellent attendance, (Shift times may vary based on customer requirements.)
