REQUIREMENTS
- Minimum 3 years of financial, securities or mutual fund industry experience with a focus on qualified retirement plans
- Solid understanding of laws, regulations, and company policies related to retirement plan benefits
- Ability to build and maintain strong client relationships
- Effective sales, presentation and customer service skills
- Excellent communication abilities, including writing, speaking and active listening
- Analytical thinking skills and the ability to assess clients’ needs
- Ability to handle private information with a high level of confidentiality
- Current FINRA registrations; Series 7 and 66 license required.
RESPONSIBILITIES
As a member of the Wealth Management Team your main focus will be on qualified retirement plan services, as the team’s expert in this area. You will work closely with business owners to provide ongoing education and support with their employer sponsored retirement plans, including researching and analyzing prospective plans for inefficiencies and providing recommendations. You will be the go-to resource for explaining retirement benefit plan policies, procedures, and legal requirements to eligible employees and beneficiaries. You will conduct presentations for groups of beneficiaries and hold individual meetings with employees regarding retirement planning. Based on the information received, you will conduct retirement and benefits-related calculations and analysis including withdrawal of contributions and deferred retirement, all while ensuring that retirement plans are administered in accordance with company guidelines and labor law regulations. Additionally, you will be responsible for preparing enrollment and educational materials for enrollment meetings, providing education to plan participants, and recommendations for better investment options.
In order to provide the best service to your clients, it is necessary to maintain compliance with all rules and regulations in the financial industry and stay on top of market trends. You will do this through meeting with product sponsors, conducting market research on fund companies and securities products, and attending continuing education classes as needed.
