What are the responsibilities and job description for the Senior Environmental Planner/Project Manager position at R.R.P. Consulting Engineers?
Responsibilities
- Providing subject matter expertise in the regulatory compliance processes of NEPA, Clean Water Act Endangered Species Act, and other federal, state, and local environmental regulations.
- Managing and preparing National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) documents including Categorical Exclusions, Environmental Assessments, and Environmental Impact Statements for transportation or other infrastructure projects in accordance with Texas Department of Transportation or other state/federal agency standards.
- Performing/overseeing environmental technical studies and report preparation.
- Facilitating public and agency outreach.
- Overseeing all aspects of environmental projects including cost estimates, schedule, and budget.
- Working with and overseeing an interdisciplinary team of technical specialists and managing their project-delivery efforts.
- Providing support and mentorship to junior staff.
- Assisting with proposals and business development
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in environmental sciences, transportation planning, environmental planning or similar discipline
- Minimum 15 years of related consulting experience
- Established and successful history managing and leading NEPA studies for transportation projects
- Practical knowledge and experience with environmental regulations: Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act, Section 7 of the Endangered Species Act, Environmental Justice, Section 404 of the Clean Water Act, and others
- NEPA, CEs, EA's, and TxDOT experience is a must
- Competence in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Project
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Demonstrated leadership ability
- TxDOT Environmental Pre-certifications including: 2.14.1 are required
- Valid driver's license is required
