Overview
The Camp Services position plays a vital role in ensuring a safe, enjoyable, and enriching experience for all campers. This role involves various responsibilities that support the daily operations of the camp, including maintaining facilities, patrolling for safety, and providing excellent customer service to campers. Ideal candidates will possess a passion for working in the outdoors and a commitment to being outgoing and positive when interacting with campers. R-Ranch is shared ownership of a 5,000 acre recreational ranch and has 2 campgrounds, riding stables, gun range, lodges, cabins, fishing ponds, and undeveloped land for off-road riding and hunting.
Pay $17-$18 per hour.
40 hours per week, evening shift and weekends required. Typical hours will be Thursday-Monday from 4pm to 1am with occasional earlier or later shifts.
Employee Campsite if desired.
Duties:
- Answer the after hours phone
- Assist campers with after-hour needs
- Welcome guests and show them around
- Remind campers of rules
- Deliver written friendly reminders, warnings, and citations to campers
- Tidy up campsites between campers, including raking and trash removal
- Maintain group picnic/BBQ/recreation areas in a clean and ready to use condition
- Water trees and ornamental plants
- Refill supplies in bathrooms and lodges, spot clean as needed
- Patrol throughout entire Ranch for suspicious activity and report it to managers and law enforcement
- Secure buildings for the night
- Turn off lights and adjust thermostats as needed
- Ensure that campers and guests are registered (including at the pool)
- Collect registration fees, and issue receipts and passes
- Chart campsite use, collect registration cards
- Maintain signage on bulletin boards and throughout the grounds
- Check that gates are locked and operating correctly
- Respond to and resolve after-hour issues
- Participate in training sessions and staff meetings to enhance skills and knowledge related to camp operations.
- Assist with emergency procedures as necessary to ensure camper safety.
- Take pride in our campgrounds and ensure that they always look their best
Skills Needed:
- Outgoing and friendly personality
- Excellent driving record and ability to drive a company car (Must be at least 22 years old.)
- Ability to pass drug screenings and provide clean driving record
- Outstanding customer service skills
- Experience with accepting cash, card, and check payments and maintaining a till
- Strong reading and writing skills required
- Ability to regularly walk over uneven terrain and to lift and carry 30 lbs
- Possess good facial recognition and be highly observant
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $17.00 - $18.00 per hour
Expected hours: No more than 40 per week
