GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION PRE-FABRICATION GENERALIST
DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITES PRE-FABRICATION GENERALIST
- Cleans and polishes tools in preparation for jobs
- Assists with yard clean-up, organization, and scrapping of materials
- Follows cut list provided by project planning
- Produce and layout parts from drawings
- Uses and operates machinery such as the press, punches, plate rolls, drill press, hand plasma cutter, bevel machine
- Operates tow motor and/or forklift as needed
SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS PRE-FABRICATION GENERALIST
- Team player/ problem solver.
- Flexible, willing to do whatever it takes to get the job done.
- Able to work with co-workers effectively as well as manage fast pace environment.
- Able to communicate effectively either by written word, word of mouth, or E-mail.
- Some experience with computer data bases.
- Driven to excel/over-achiever.
- Experience with automated/programmable equipment consoles.
- Experience with tow motors / pallet jacks
- Experience with overhead cranes / rigging of large materials (I.E. plates, heads, weldments, to be drilled, or bent)
- Able to keep work area clean and well organized (equipment in good working order).
- Experience with a wide variety of stainless steel alloys.
- Proficient in the interpretation of mechanical drawings, and assembly drawings.
- Must possess the ability to layout and create parts from drawings accurately.
- Skill in the use of trigonometry, shop math and construction formulae.
- Time management skills.
EDUCATIONAL/PHYSICAL REQUIRMENTS PRE-FABRICATION GENERALIST
- Must be able to perform the essential functions of the job with or without accommodation
- Must be able to complete and pass a physical assessment
- Every day repetitive wrist, hand or finger movement, involving gripping and wrist torquing
- Every day stair climbing, standing, walking, bending, crouching, stooping, and occasional reaching overhead
- Everyday lifting 25-50 lbs
- Exposure to moving machinery, dust, dirt, grease, or other disagreeable elements
- Must have ability to hear emergency communications and alarms
