Key Responsibilities
- Facility Maintenance and Repair
- Oversee the upkeep, repair, and improvement of all school facilities, including classrooms, offices, common areas, restrooms, and outdoor spaces
- Develop and implement a preventative maintenance schedule for building systems (e.g., HVAC, plumbing, electrical, security, and fire safety)
- Collaborate with vendors, service providers, and external contractors to ensure timely completion of work, monitoring service levels and costs
- Custodial and Grounds Management
- Supervise custodial staff, including hiring, training, scheduling, and performance evaluations, to ensure the school remains clean and safe
- Ensure custodial tasks—such as cleaning, waste management, and disinfection—are carried out in accordance with health and safety standards
- Oversee the upkeep of grounds, landscaping, and outdoor sports or recreational areas
- Safety and Compliance
- Supervise the security officer to include safety drills, walkthroughs, patrols, and maintaining a safe school campus
- Ensure that the school meets all local, state, and federal health, safety, and building code requirements
- Maintain accurate records and documentation of inspections, compliance reports, and safety procedures
- Conduct regular building inspections, identify potential hazards, and implement corrective measures promptly
- Project Management
- Manage facilities-related projects from conception through completion, including scope, budget, timeline, and quality control
- Coordinate with internal stakeholders and external contractors to minimize disruption to the school day
- Ensure that all projects align with Reve Prep’s organizational goals and budget constraints
- Budget and Inventory Management
- Develop, manage, and maintain annual facilities budget in collaboration with the Director of Operations, identifying cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality or safety
- Monitor expenditures, ensuring efficient use of resources and accurate forecasting
- Maintain an inventory of supplies, equipment, and tools necessary for repairs, cleaning, and maintenance
- Team Leadership and Collaboration
- Lead, mentor, and develop custodial and maintenance personnel to foster a culture of excellence, continuous improvement, and teamwork
- Coordinate with the school leadership team to address facilities-related concerns promptly
- Communicate effectively with administrators, staff, and vendors to coordinate work and prioritize tasks
- Education & Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent required; post-secondary education in facility management, construction management, or a related field preferred
- Minimum 3 years of facilities management experience, ideally in a school or similar environment
- Knowledge & Skills
- Strong understanding of building systems (HVAC, plumbing, electrical) and custodial best practices
- Familiarity with local, state, and federal safety regulations and building codes
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects, timelines, and budgets effectively
- Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills
- Proficient in technology tools such as email, calendars, and basic office applications
