Consulting, and Commissioning services to some of the region’s leading businesses and institutions. Our firm is a third-generation family business located in Boston, currently employing 95 staff members.
We are seeking an experienced full-time mechanical or energy engineer for the role of Energy Analyst and Project Manager , to join our growing energy and sustainability consulting group. We are looking for motivated candidates who can grow with this department. Duties will include the execution and management of energy modeling work, customized energy and financial analysis, renewable energy evaluation, decarbonization and electrification analysis, utility rebate and incentive research, green building certification support and promoting sustainability within R.W. Sullivan. As a project manager you will also be responsible for mentoring junior staff as well as client interface, including developing and maintaining strong relationships with clients and generating new business opportunities.
The selected applicant will perform energy modeling and building analyses for a wide range of projects, including LEED certification, Passive House certification, building de-carbonization, and deep energy retrofits. Experience performing building energy modeling is a requirement for applying to this position. This position will require you to collect relevant information to perform energy and cost analysis, including conducting field visits to project sites both in state and out of state. Projects will require energy modeling with Trane Trace, eQuest, WUFI, or similar software. The ideal candidate will be adaptive to working with all building types, and knowledgeable regarding a variety of building mechanical systems.
Experience and Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years of experience
- Building energy modeling (i.e. Trane Trace, eQuest, Energy Plus, WUFI, etc.)
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Architectural Engineering, or equivalent
- Understanding of and experience with a variety of Mechanical HVAC systems
- Experience with client and project management
- Deep familiarity with ASHRAE standards, the International Energy Conservation Code (IECC), and the MA Stretch Energy Code.
- Excellent report writing skills, communication and time management skills
- Ability to complete assignments on time and within budget
