The Company
Privately held, Family-owned and operated property management, construction and
agriculture firm based in Hayward, California. Manages and maintains residential communities and office / retail commercial properties in northern and southern California, and owns and operates vineyards and orchards. Founded in 1969.
The Position
- The Asset & Operations Director will report to the President and have primary responsibility for planning, managing and overseeing the firm's commercial and residential real estate assets
- This will include direct responsibility for : the performance of all commercial and residential real estate assets, the development of asset strategies to maximize profitability of the portfolio, leasing, budgeting, capital improvement planning, valuations and quarterly reporting
- The position is also responsible for identifying and securing new investment opportunities for the firm, consistent with the Company’s and the Family’s mission and strategic plan
- Provides direction to and enhances the skills of office staff
- Builds internal capabilities of staff by providing coaching and mentoring.
- Delivers quarterly reporting to all shareholders of the performance of its real estate holdings
- The individual will work closely with the President and all office staff
Key Duties and Responsibilities
Directly responsible for the overall performance of the firmʼs commercial and residential real estate portfolioAssists in the development of asset strategies and plans to improve the financial performance of the firmʼs commercial and residential real estate holdingsOversees all real estate leasing activities, including marketing, negotiation of lease terms, tenant improvements, financial analysis, and preparation and signing of lease documentsDevelops new business opportunities for the firm, consistent with the Company’s and the Family’s mission and strategic planProvides direction to and enhances the skills of office staffBuilds internal capabilities of staff by providing coaching and mentoringDelivers quarterly reporting to all shareholders of the performance of its real estate holdingsCreates and maintains outstanding relationships with all partners and stakeholders (e.g., brokerage community, banking, accounting, legal, human resources, IT and farming)Establishes and maintains strong relationships with the FamilyQualifications and Requirements
BA / BS in related field; MBA and / or legal degree highly desirableCalifornia Brokers License required10 years in progressively increasing leadership roles in real property management required, preferably in commercial real estateStrong knowledge of the commercial real estate market in northern and southern CaliforniaExperience in residential real estate highly desirableExperience in construction and agriculture desirable but not requiredExperience in a family-owned business desirable but not requiredPersonal Attributes
