Janitor

Overview

R2 Consulting is seeking experienced custodians to support a contract at the Hoosier National Forest Office, Tell City, IN.
We are recruiting qualified personnel with custodial experience who are dedicated to providing high-quality service and contributing to a professional team environment. Our team members are reliable, detail-oriented, and committed to environmental and operational excellence.

Responsibilities

The selected custodians will perform the following tasks as outlined in the Performance Work Statement:

Daily and Routine Cleaning Tasks:

• Vacuuming, mopping, and spot cleaning carpets.
• Cleaning, disinfecting, and sanitizing restrooms, including sinks, toilets, urinals, and floors.
• Dusting high and low surfaces, cleaning glass/mirrors, and polishing wood and metal surfaces.
• Emptying trash and recycling bins and transporting waste to proper disposal areas.

Periodic and Specialized Cleaning:

• Semi-annual cleaning of blinds, window sills, and ledges.
• Annual hot water extraction carpet cleaning.
• Weekly exercise room cleaning, including disinfecting equipment and floors.

Energy and Safety Compliance:

• Using lights only in areas being cleaned and turning them off upon completion.
• Securing building doors and ensuring all equipment is shut down at the end of shifts.

Adherence to Green Cleaning Standards:

• Utilizing biobased products and eco-friendly cleaning methods to minimize environmental impact​​.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of janitorial or custodial experience in a similar setting.
• Ability to pass a pre-employment background check and drug screening.
• Fingerprinting required as part of the onboarding process.
• Familiarity with safety standards (OSHA compliance) and proper handling of cleaning equipment and materials.
• Reliable transportation and availability during specified shifts.

Shift Information

• Work Hours: Monday, Wednesday, and Friday evenings, 6 PM to 9 PM.
• No work required on federal holidays, unless otherwise specified.

Employees will use standard cleaning equipment, including:

• Vacuum cleaners with HEPA filters.
• Carpet cleaners and floor scrubbers.
• Environmentally friendly cleaning supplies compliant with federal guidelines​​.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $17.20 per hour
