Salary : $75,000 - $95,000

The Instructional Systems Support Specialist (ISS) is a vital member of the team responsible for developing, managing, and improving curriculum for medical training programs at the Medical Education and Training Campus (METC). The ISS ensures curriculum aligns with the standards and policies of the Air Force, Army, and Navy while integrating the latest instructional technology and educational methodologies.

The ISS collaborates with academic affairs staff, program sponsors, and external agencies to enhance training effectiveness and student outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Curriculum Development

Plan and organize the curriculum lifecycle process for 48 enlisted medical training programs.

  • Design, develop, and evaluate instructional programs in compliance with governance policies.
  • Update and maintain curriculum in learning management systems, such as METC Blackboard and Interactive Courseware Implementation System (ICIS).
  • Instructional Design
  • Develop interactive instructional materials incorporating advanced educational technology.

  • Execute the design and testing of training materials, special training devices, and instructional tools to meet evolving program needs.
  • Training Support
  • Provide technical expertise and training to METC faculty and staff on Instructional Systems Development (ISD) and Systems Approach to Training (SAT) processes.

  • Guide faculty in integrating innovative instructional strategies to enhance student learning outcomes.
  • Program Evaluation
  • Conduct analysis to determine curriculum effectiveness and recommend improvements.

  • Monitor and track curriculum milestones to ensure timely project completion.
  • Collaboration
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with METC leadership, program sponsors, and external organizations.

  • Participate in training meetings and provide expert input to enhance operations and strategies.
  • Qualifications

  • Education
  • Bachelors degree in Education, Instructional Design, or a related field. Masters degree preferred.

  • Experience
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in instructional design, curriculum development, or educational program management.

  • Proficiency with learning management systems and educational technology tools.
  • Skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Familiarity with the ADDIE model and ISD / SAT methodologies.
  • Clearance Requirement

    Candidates must possess or be eligible to obtain a Tier 1 (T1) Background Investigation clearance before the start date. Interim computer access may be granted upon initiation of the background check and completion of security awareness training.
