JOB DESCRIPTION:
- Read and interpret written work order instructions, specifications, drawings, and blueprints.
- Operate honing / grinding machines.
- Generate final precision dimension for honing and grinding.
- Use a variety of precision measuring instruments and tools to ensure proper tolerances are maintained.
- Operate and perform daily preventive maintenance of honing and grinding machines as well as other equipment used in the department.
- Meet established standards for productivity and quality. Confers with supervisor when problems arise which impact expected level of performance.
- Perform any task required to support customer requirement and company goals.
- Support and maintains Quality Policy.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, work orders, specifications, drawings, blueprints, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to operate hone and grinding machines and other equipment used in the department.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
- Ability to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- Must be able to sit or stand for at least 8 hours a day.
- Able to pack finished product for shipment.
- Visually inspect finished goods (both speed & accuracy are required).
- Ability to identify visual defects against a standard.
- Ability to routinely lift 35 lbs. with or without accommodation.
