DUTIES: Position is responsible for all aspects of the credit product including underwriting, structuring, analysis, documentation, negotiation, industry research, financial modeling and ongoing maintenance of new and existing customers; analyze credit risk and clients risk management practices, structure credit products, financial modelling/ Economic Capital assessments via internal models for prospects/new transactions; perform cash flow analysis, liquidity analysis, and projections proficiency; manage ongoing credit needs of existing relationships; respond to SCO or credit committee questions related to credit applications; research and evaluate specific target industries; assist with training of junior staff; initiate timely reviews; monthly/ quarterly assessment of received information & covenant checks; monitoring assigned portfolio of clients; in depth client knowledge is essential for adequately identifying early warning signals with the aim of minimizing loan losses; and, initiate where necessary extra measures in order to safeguard the credit portfolio. Domestic (U.S.) travel required up to 25%. Telecommuting permitted up to 40%.REQUIREMENTS: A Master's degree (or foreign equivalent) in Business, Finance, Economics, or a related field plus two (2) years of post-baccalaureate work experience in the job offered or in an Associate, Credit Analyst - TCF - related occupation. Experience must include the following:
- Demonstrable experience writing credit applications including business, credit underwriting, market, financial, risk, and facility structure analysis, credit metrics, and structures pertinent to commodity trading companies;
- Demonstrable experience analyzing commodity trade finance structures, collateral and perfection, including revolving loans, borrowing base and transactional facilities, forward book, brokerage accounts, commodity inventories;
- Demonstrable experience analyzing commodity traders'risk practices and liquidity needs, including position and margin call stress analysis;
- Demonstrable experience defending credit applications to risk approvers and/or credit committees;
- Demonstrable experience tracking the ongoing reporting of clients and monitoring their credit risk status for breaches, deterioration, and intern escalation;
- Demonstrable experience communicating with clients including traders, treasury, finance, and C-Suite personnel in conjunction with relationship managers and individually;
- Demonstrable proficiency in business analysis, financial analysis, and market analysis of commodity traders including, working capital analysis, liquidity analysis and stressing, margin call stressing;
- Demonstrable ability to use Microsoft office software including excel, word, outlook, and teams, and advanced functions in Excel including INDEX, VLOOKUP, pivot tables, and macros;
- Demonstrable knowledge of credit analysis tools including spreadsheet for financial modeling, credit rating models, bank risk return models, covenant and collateral tracking applications, and approval workflow applications;
- Demonstrable ability to support relationship managers in negotiation and executing, as well as summarize and analyze risk associated with, commodity trade finance structures and general banking products and associated legal documentation including NDAs, term sheets, syndicated and bilateral credit agreements, revolving credit facilities, term loan facilities, derivatives, repos, ISDAs and CSAs.
Range of Pay: $109,400 to $159,000 p/y
