What are the responsibilities and job description for the AV Low Voltage technician (Tahoe City/Incline Village/Truckee) position at RAC Advanced Control, Inc.?
An award winning custom electronics integrator in North Lake Tahoe is looking for a Lead Technician to join our team. This person will play a key role in the organization and installation of high-end automation systems.
Qualified individuals will possess a majority if not all of the following criteria:
- A minimum of 4-5 years experience in a leadership role as AV Installer in the high end residential construction industry
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Must be responsible, self-motivated, personable and well-organized with can-do attitude.
- Ability to demonstrate planning, organizing and implementing skills which allow the successful completion of a project by a specific due date.
- Must be able to read and effectively interpret general jobsite documentation need to be proactive with data entry
- Ability to organize and prioritize daily tasks.
- Ability to properly and efficiently diagnose and troubleshoot complex systems.
Experience installing the following:
- Savant, Crestron and/or Control4 control systems
- Distributed and stand‐alone Audio systems
- Distributed and stand‐alone Video systems
- Lutron lighting control systems
- Lutron shading systems installation and integration with control systems
- Network equipment installation and configuration
- Basic knowledge of LAN/WAN, ability to assign IP addresses and configure routers.
- Organizing and Terminating AV Racks
- Organizing and Terminating Low Volt Panels
- Security Cameras ‐ NVR installation,
- VoIP digital phone and intercom systems installation
- HVAC integration with control systems (RS232 or IP)
- Familiarity with Apple products
- Familiarity with electrical circuitry
- Any industry related certification is a plus
- Electrical experience is a big plus!

Individual must:
-Have experience with Lutron lighting system or other lighting systems.
-Be eligible to work in the US.
-Have high level of energy and sense of urgency, ability to work independently and lead teams
-Have valid Driver's License and clean driving record.
-Have own hand and cordless tools.
-Background and reference check required.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Proficient in blueprint reading and interpreting technical documents
- Strong knowledge of NEC codes, regulations, and safety standards
- Excellent troubleshooting skills and ability to diagnose issues accurately
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities
