POSITION SUMMARY : Machine Operators are responsible for performing operations on assigned machines. This individual performs one or more of the following efficiently : operates production equipment; deburrs machined products; inspect parts in process and finished goods; Operates CNC lathes, production machines where setups and tool changes are required. May operate computer console. Uses simple measurement instruments (micrometers, calipers, digital height stands) to check work. Makes simple adjustments and notifies Lead for the need for more complex tool or machine adjustments.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES : (the following in only a summary of the typical functions of the job, not an exhaustive or comprehensive list of all possible responsibilities, tasks, and duties)
- Operate equipment properly and safely.
- Sets up and operates machine by work order, drawings, templates, or layouts.
- Familiar with machine / tool offset adjustments.
- Follow work instructions and Standard Operating Procedures.
- Use of small hand tools.
- Cleans / organizes / straightens areas as defined by Leads Supervisor which include wiping down the machines, removing trash, sweeping area, scrap bins, skids, boxes and / or other items that result from factory environment.
