About This Role
The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, driving profitability for one RaceTrac store while overseeing up to 45 employees. Key responsibilities include establishing a prompt and courteous service environment, leading positive relationships with coworkers and guests, managing conflicts effectively, and communicating respectfully.
Key Responsibilities:
- Service Environment Management: Establish a customer-focused atmosphere by effectively managing conflicts and promoting a culture of respect.
- Leadership and Communication: Lead positive and professional relationships with direct reports, guests, and vendors through respectful communication and a consistent team-oriented attitude.
- Customer Concern Resolution: Manage guest concerns promptly and efficiently, involving regional team members as needed.
- Food Service Excellence: Drive food service excellence by executing designed processes, increasing sales and margin, ensuring product quality, and utilizing training resources.
- Food Offer Availability and Preparation: Ensure all food offers are available, preparation areas and equipment are clean and properly maintained.
- Store Cleanliness and Safety: Encourage high standards of store cleanliness, direct and monitor safety regulations, including food safety.
- Shift Duties and Presentation: Execute shift duties, maintain overall presentation standards, and represent the RaceTrac brand.
- Core Values and Leadership: Demonstrate RaceTrac's Core Values of Honesty, Efficiency, Positive Attitude, Respect, and Teamwork through servant-leadership and effective communication.
- Direct Report Coaching and Assessment: Lead coaching, training, and assessment of direct reports while adhering to operational standards.
- Inventory Control and Vendor Relationships: Strategically direct control of inventory and distribution of materials, merchandise, and supplies, developing and maintaining vendor relationships for efficient deliveries.
- Performance Analysis and Improvement: Review financial statements, sales analysis reports, and other performance data to measure productivity, identifying areas of operational improvements based on market trends.
- Scheduling and Staffing: Create or approve schedules to ensure proper staffing levels for expected sale volumes, own staffing in-store by providing timely feedback on interviews.
- Hiring and Manager Development: Engage in hiring all store associates; develop managers to understand RaceTrac hiring processes and participate in hiring decisions.
Qualifications:
- Education: High School Diploma or GED in progress or completed.
- Experience: 5 years of prior food service, retail, or restaurant supervisory experience; retail management experience preferred.
- Skills and Knowledge: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, knowledge of Labor Laws and staffing best practices.
- Physical Demands: Capacity to lift up to 50 pounds and repeatedly bend, stand, and reach while on the job.
