Job Summary
The concession attendant is responsible for taking food and beverage orders and filling food orders.
Salary:
- Year 1 Attendant: $12.55/hr.
- Year 2 Attendant: $12.80/hr.
- Year 3 Attendant: $13.05/hr.
- Year 4 Attendant: $13.32/hr.
Key Responsibilities
Food Handling, Preparation and Storage of Concession Menu Items:
- Prepare and store concession menu items and proper storage.
- Must follow all food preparation guidelines including cross-contamination policies and proper food storage.
- Prepare menu items as trained, following the required health department codes.
- Properly store all concession products according to training manual and code.
- Wear proper safety gloves, hair netting/hat, shoes.
Manage Shift Inventory:
- Follow guidelines for inventory control.
- Maintain accurate and detailed, daily cash control records and product inventory reports.
- Prepare menu items based on the patron load and weather, keeping concession loss to a minimum.
- Record all concession inventory loss at the end of the shift.
Accurate Cash Management:
- Verify cash drawer at the start of shift.
- Effectively manage cash drawer during shift.
- Must accurately process transactions on computer, ringing sales into POS cash register.
- Perform cash drawer reconciliation at the end of the shift, with lead verifying cash drawer and shift drop.
Operate Concession Stand:
- Ability to operate and follow all guidelines provided in the concessions manual and health department codes.
- Responsible for all opening, shift and closing procedures.
- Responsible for cleaning checklist, keeping the concession area neat and presentable, to include cleaning counters, sinks, refrigerator, freezer, and equipment, disposing of trash and cleaning surface areas.
- Keep outside eating area clean and disinfected for guests, wiping tables, emptying garbage cans, and picking up garbage on the deck.
- Able to operate and clean all concessions equipment.
- Follow all procedures and personal hygiene policies (hand washing, jewelry, hair).
- Must remain knowledgeable of daily operations by reading the Communication Log Book each and every day you work. This will provide new information, policies and procedures for the concession staff.
Work Schedule Shifts:
- Ability to work all schedule shifts.

Responsible for working scheduled shift.
- If unable to work shift, secure a sub or notify concession lead in a timely manner.
- Submit work availability on time.
Supervision Received: Receives supervision from Guest Services/Concessions/Attendant Supervisor & Recreation Program Manager.
Qualifications
- Must be a minimum of fourteen (14) years of age with preferred food handling experience.
- Cash handling experience is preferred.
- Must be able to properly handle cash.
- Ability to work with public in a fast paced environment
- Must be friendly and courteous.
- CPR-AED Certfication.

- While performing this job, the employee is required to speak and listen, stand, walk, use hands, sit, stoop or kneel, bend and lift and/or move up to 20 pounds.
- Specific vision requirements include, distance, color vision, peripheral and depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Staff Incentives:
- Free family membership to the SC Johnson Community Aquatic Center.
- early $50 sign-on bonus if accepted before April 1st (awarded mid July)
- $50 bonus for returning staff (awarded mid July)
- $100 referral bonus for each new staff member referred and hired (awarded mid July)
- $200 end of season bonus for those averaging 20 hours for 10 weeks or $500 end of season bonus for those averaging 35 hours for 10 weeks.
- Will receive time and a half if scheduled to work on a holiday (Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day).
