The Assistant Director of Day Services is responsible for creating, implementing, and maintaining innovative day service programs that promote community inclusion, personal growth, and independence. By collaborating with multiple teams, you’ll help ensure that individuals have access to the services they need, when they need them, in a way that is meaningful to them.
Salary range is $65,000-$75,000, depending on education and experience.
Responsibilities:
- Provide leadership, coordination, and oversight in the area of Day Services including but not limited to day habilitation and community habilitation services.
- Ensure the availability and implementation of full day community-based activities for all enrolled service recipients.
- Coordinate with Residential Leadership to ensure staffing is consistently available.
- Develop and maintain schedules and back up staffing plans.
- Coordinate with Residential Leadership to ensure availability of vehicles and other resources during day service hours.
- Maintain communication with Care Management Leadership to ensure individuals have timely access to needed services.
- Maintain communication with OPWDD staff to ensure timely access to needed services.
- Oversee the daily operations of the Meaningful Days program including oversight of Support Coordinators and DSPS.
- Oversee the daily operations of the Flex Program including management of staff.
- In collaboration with the Director of Residential and Day Services, adapt and expand program models to meet the needs of service recipients.
- Monitor the provision of services to ensure service recipients receive designated frequency and duration of services.
- Oversee program efforts to ensure compliance program and billing standards.
- Understand and use perspectives and techniques of other team members in program design and daily activities
- Utilize problem-solving techniques to resolve differences and come to conclusion with team
- Prepare reports as required by program director.
- Provides leadership to Residential Staff as needed and assigned.
- Assume responsibility for related duties as required or assigned
Working Relationships:
- Directly responsible to The Director of Residential and Day Services
- Works in collaboration with the Residential Leadership team.
- Supervises Day Services Coordinators and Direct Support Staff
- Education/Certification: Bachelor's degree in Human Services of Related Field. Must have a valid New York State Driver’s license, and ability to meet Racker’s Approved Driver criteria
- Experience: Three years of experience in the provision of recreational, therapeutic or habilitative services. Supervisory experience.
- Knowledge/Skills: Interest in and knowledge of developmental disabilities, ability to organize complex staffing needs, highly collaborative problem solving.
