Seeking an outdoor educator to work at a rootsy local nature school.
Community of amazing women! Monday-Thursday or Monday-Friday schedule. 9am-1pm. Located in the La Mesa area.

This is a woman-owned business which supports children to explore outdoor spaces, build confidence and connection with the natural world around them, as well as themselves. We organically find teachable moments to pass on caring lessons to young ones, such as emotional intelligence, boundaries, consent, leave no trace, ecology, and Indigenous respect and honor.
Our classes run M-F 9:30 - 12:30, with teacher's hours being 8:45-12:45 with possibility to add hours by arriving early, meetings, and extended care.

Summary
As an Outdoor Educator at our Nature School, you will inspire and engage children through hands-on learning experiences in the great outdoors. Reporting to the Program Director, your role will focus on fostering a love for nature while ensuring the safety and well-being of all participants. With core skills in childcare and camp activities, along with premium skills in classroom management and first aid, you will create a nurturing environment. Your relevant experience in early childhood education and behavior management will be essential in guiding students' development and enhancing their educational journey.
Responsibilities
- Facilitate engaging outdoor learning experiences for children, promoting exploration and appreciation of nature.
- Implement effective classroom management strategies to maintain a positive learning environment.
- Provide individualized support to students, including those with special needs, ensuring all children feel included and valued.
- Conduct safety checks and administer first aid as necessary, prioritizing student well-being.
- Collaborate with parents and staff to enhance educational outcomes and foster community involvement.
Qualifications
- Experience working with children in outdoor or educational settings
- Classroom management skills
- Certification in First Aid and CPR
- Background in education, childcare, or early childhood education
- Knowledge of childhood development principles and practices
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $20.00 per hour
