Job Summary
The Library Administrative Assistant facilitates the smooth operation of the University Libraries' administrative office while providing professional, welcoming, and knowledgeable support to library patrons. This position handles sensitive budget and personnel documents requiring a high degree of discretion and confidentiality. This includes managing the library budgets for McConnell Library and Radford University Carilion Library, maintaining financial records and facilitating purchases for each department. The position is also responsible for supervising the McConnell administrative office's student assistants, as well as coordinating hiring for student assistants across McConnell departments.
Required QualificationsHigh School Diploma/GED or equivalentExperience with bookkeeping/accounting principles and practicesProficient with Mac/PC computers, Microsoft Office and other computer applicationsDemonstrated strong communication skills, both oral and writtenDemonstrated effective time management skillsKnowledge of general office practicesAdditional Considerations
Database management, spreadsheets, Banner, EVA, COGNOS, or other office management software experienceExperience managing an executive or administrative office; experience in customer service.Experience supervising student employees
